The first-ever trailer of the second generation of High School Musical was released by Disney on Friday.
The High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, is a 10-episode documentary-style show, as part of Disney+’s first wave of original content.
The series, like the first generation of High School Musical, will be about the students of East High School, the same place where the 2006 film and its two follow-ups were set.
The new batch are super fans of the classic Disney film and will stage a musical, they will compete for the role of Gabriella Montez, Troy Bolton and Sharpay Evans.
The trailer gave us a first glimpse of the characters like Nini (Olivia Rodrigo), and E.J. (Matt Cornett), and Ricky (Joshua Bassett).
The series will feature a rendition of a song from High School Musical every episode as well as an original song.
It will premiere on November 12 together with the launch of Disney Plus, the company’s new streaming service.
High School Musical film was released in 2006 and was a big hit internationally. Two sequels, (High School Musical 2 and High School Musical 3: Senior Year) has been made due to the success of the film.
