The sad news was confirmed by her daughter, Vangie Bacobo, and Mowelfund president Boots Anson-Roa, who said Mona Lisa (real name Gloria Lerma Yatco) died in her sleep.

Viewing starts Aug. 26 at Loyola Memorial Chapels 1 and 2 in Sucat, Paranaque.

Some of the movies Mona Lisa did were “Giliw Ko,” “Ang Pagbabalik,” “Bago Lumubog ang Araw,” “Walang Pangalan” and “Sanggumay.”

She retired sometime in the ‘50s to focus on raising her family, only to return two decades later in the movie “La Paloma,” then “Insiang” where she bagged Best Supporting Actress trophies from FAMAS and Gawad Urian Awards.

One of her last film was “Mother Ignacia” at the turn of the century wherein she played a nun.
