Sharon Cuneta couldn’t contain her happiness upon learning her movie “Kuwaresma” not only made the cut in different film festivals abroad, but will soon be available for streaming on an American media-services provider.
On Instagram, the 53-year-old Megastar revealed she’s “beyond proud” to announce that their film is part of six film festivals so far.
First is at Vienna, Austria’s /Slash Festival des Fantastischen Films from Sept. 19 to 29, then next month from Oct. 8 to 17 and Oct. 22 to 26 at ToHorror Film Festival in Italy and at Nocturna, Madrid International Fantastic Film Festival, respectively.
On Oct. 29 to Nov. 5, “Kuwaresma” will be screened at Tokyo International Film Festival; Nov. 16 to 27 at Oslo International Film Festival; and Nov. 28 to Dec. 8 at Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre.
Aside from that, Erik Matti’s horror flick is now on Netflix under the title “The Entity,” in select countries like Singapore, Vietnam, Brunei, Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar, and the Philippines.
On Sept. 26, “Kuwaresma” will be available in Taiwan, Macau, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Indonesia.
Produced by Reality Entertainment and Globe Studios, the film is about the family of couple Rebecca (Sharon) and Arturo (John Arcilla). When their daughter Manuela died, their son Luis comes home to pay his last respects and begins asking about the cause of death — but the parents kept mum. Luis consults a psychic to uncover the mystery of Manuela’s death, and eventually comes face-to-face with their family’s dark history.
