The Miss Universe organization has announced that a new type of crown is set to be made for their next beauty queen winners.
On Facebook, the American-based group shared it will be crafted by world-renowned luxury jeweler Mouawad.
“It’s official! (crown emoji) World-renowned luxury jeweler Mouawad is the official crown sponsor for the Miss Universe Organization,” they wrote.
Mouawad holds five Guinness World Records for the world’s most valuable jewelry box, the world’s most valuable necklace, the world’s most valuable handbag, the world’s most expensive bra, and the world’s most expensive single pear-shaped diamond.
The Miss Universe organization continued that the “Miss Universe Diamond Crown” will make its debut at the 68th Annual Miss Universe competition. According to some reports, the edition of the pageant would be held in Seoul, South Korea, which previously hosted Miss Universe in 1980.
Last year, the 25-year-old Filipina beauty queen Catriona bagged the Mikimoto crown, after South Africa’s Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, and Miss Universe titleholders from 2002 to 2007.
Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere had the Diamonds International Corporation (DIC) crown, the same one that the 29-year-old Filipina Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach won.
