Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray’s successor will be wearing a new crown.
The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) on Monday revealed that globally-acclaimed Swiss luxury jeweler Mouawad will be creating a new diamond crown for the 68th year of the pageant.
“Mouawad is the official crown sponsor for the Miss Universe Organization. Watch the Miss Universe Diamond Crown by #Mouawad make its debut at the 68th Annual #MissUniverse Competition,” MUO announced on their Facebook page.
The Mouawad-designed headpiece will replace the Mikimoto crown which was worn by Gray, South Africa’s Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters in 2017, and Miss Universe titleholders from 2002 to 2007.
Mouawad holds five Guinness World Records for the world’s most valuable jewelry box, the world’s most valuable necklace, the world’s most valuable handbag, the world’s most expensive bra, and the world’s most expensive single pear-shaped diamond.
