YouTube reveals first 24-hour views of BTS J-Hope’s ‘Chicken Noodle Soup,’ SuperM’s ‘Jopping’

K-pop star J-Hope of BTS and new boy band SuperM dropped their respective new music videos and YouTube has revealed the views in the first 24 hours.

J-Hope’s “Chicken Noodle Soup (feat. Becky G)” music video was released on YouTube on Sept. 27 while SuperM’s “Jopping” music video came out on Oct. 4.

According to a YouTube representative, “Chicken Noodle Soup (feat. Becky G)” MV earned 23.2 million and “Jopping” MV garnered 9.6 million in the first 24 hours of release.

As of writing, “Chicken Noodle Soup” had 71.69 million views while “Jopping” got 23 million views based on the YouTube screen counter.

J-Hope and Becky G’s MV collaboration is a reinterpretation of the original track’s choreography which shows wing-flapping motions of a chicken. The MV, which also showcases over 50 dancers from regions all around the world, was directed by Lumpens.

The original “Chicken Noodle Soup” song was released in 2006 by Webstar and Young B featuring The Voice of Harlem.Its music video was uploaded on YouTube in November 2009.

“Chicken Noodle Soup” became an inspiration for J-Hope when he first started learning to dance. The new song features Korean, English and Spanish lyrics.

Becky G’s songs include “Dollar,” “Mayores (feat. Bad Bunny)” and “Sin Pijama (feat. Natti Natasha).” She will host the 2019 MTV EMAs that will be held in Seville, Spain in November.

On the other hand, SuperM is composed of EXO’s Baekhyun and Kai, NCT’s Lucas, Mark, Taeyong and Ten, and SHINee’s Taemin.
Their debut album “SuperM” was released on Oct. 4 and features seven tracks including a “Jopping” instrumental.

SuperM had their first TV performance of “Jopping” on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Oct. 9. They will hold their “SuperM: We Are the Future Live” tour in the US and Canada starting in November.

According to YouTube, the current top 10 music videos which got the most views in the first 24 hours of all time are:

1. BTS’ “Boy With Luv feat. Halsey” – 74.6 million views
2. Taylor Swift’s “ME!” – 65.2 million
3. BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love” – 56.7 million
4. Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” – 55.4 million
5. BTS’ “Idol” – 45.9 million
6. Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” – 43.2 million
7. TWICE’s “Fancy” – 42.1 million
8. Eminem’s “Killshot” – 38.1 million
9. BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU)” – 36.2 million
10. PSY’s “Gentleman” – 36 million
