With social media as platform for anyone to voice out opinion, musician Jim Paredes encourages people to not cower away from cyber bullies.
“Pls report anyone who threatens, curses, bullies or insults you,” his recent Twitter post read. “Twitter immediately acts on such reports and forces them to erase tweets or close accounts within a few hours.”
The veteran singer has been a target of criticisms online for his political beliefs.
Early this month, he posted a screenshot of a direct message he received from a netizen supposedly threatening to slam his face to a wall.
Hours after, Jim commended Twitter for the “quick response” on that “threat of violence.”
The letter sent to him via e-mail stated: “We’ve locked the account for breaking our rules.”
