Korean actor ‘so touched’ over PH remake of ‘Miracle In Cell No. 7’

The Philippine adaptation of the 2013 Korean drama film “Miracle In Cell No. 7” has caught the attention of original lead actor Ryu Seung-Ryong.
On Facebook, Ryu Seung-Ryong shared the teaser of the movie. He wrote in Korean: “So touched to know that there will be a Philippine remake.”
“Miracle In Cell No. 7” is a heartwarming comedy and family melodrama about a mentally challenged man wrongfully imprisoned for murder. He builds friendships with the hardened criminals in his cell, and in return they help him see his daughter again by smuggling her into the prison.
Aga Muhlach plays the Filipino counterpart of Ryu Seung Ryong’s character, while Xia Vigor portrays his daughter. Other cast members include Bela Padilla, Tirso Cruz III, Joel Torre, JC Santos, Mon Confiado, and Jojit Lorenzo, among others.
On Nov. 12, Viva Entertainment released the first trailer of the Filipino remake and lots of people are weeping after seeing it.
The producer expressed their gratitude to the South Korean actor for his support.

“Miracle In Cell No. 7” is one of the official entries to the 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival. It opens in cinemas nationwide on Dec. 25.
