YouTube: BLACKPINK, BTS top most viewed K-pop MVs in 2019

As the year winds down, YouTube has revealed the top 10 most viewed K-pop music videos worldwide in 2019.

Official list provided by a YouTube spokesperson to this writer showed that BLACKPINK and BTS bagged the first two places in the ranking.

BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love” music video is the No. 1 most viewed K-pop music video globally in 2019 with 669 million views. The music video premiered on YouTube on April 4, 2019 and garnered 56.7 million views in the first 24 hours. It won the Music Video of 2019 at the E! People’s Choice Awards held last Nov. 10 in the US.

BTS’ “Boy with Luv” featuring Halsey emerged as the second most viewed K-pop music video worldwide in 2019 with 629 million views, according to YouTube. The MV was uploaded on YouTube on April 12 this year and it set the record as the most viewed MV in the first 24 hours with 74.6 million views.

TWICE’s “Fancy” MV placed third in the top 10 with 236 million views since its upload on YouTube on April 22, 2019. It garnered 42.1 million views in the first 24 hours.

Rookie girl group ITZY’s debut song “Dalla Dalla” ranked as the fourth most viewed K-pop MV worldwide in 2019 with 164 million views. It was uploaded on YouTube on Feb. 10 this year.

Fifth on the list is TWICE’s “Feel Special” music video, which accumulated 141 million views since its premiere on YouTube last Sept. 23. YouTube previously said that the MV earned over 15.1 million views in the first 24 hours of release.

BTS member J-Hope’s “Chicken Noodle Soup” featuring Becky G is the sixth most viewed K-pop MV globally in 2019 with 116 million views, which was uploaded on YouTube on Sept. 27.

ITZY’s “Icy” MV, uploaded on July 28, placed seventh with 113 million views, according to YouTube. The track is the carrier song of their debut mini album “It’s Icy.”

Rookie boy band TXT, BTS’ junior group in Big Hit Entertainment, ranked eight with their music video “Crown” garnering 93 million views since its premiere on March 4. The song is part of TXT’s debut album “The Dream Chapter: Star,” which was also released on March 4.

Girl group Momoland x Pororo’s “Banana Cha Cha” ranked ninth with 88 million views. It premiered on YouTube on April 5.

Rookie girl group Everglow’s “Adios” music video placed tenth on the list with 79 million views since its upload on Aug. 19. “Adios” is a track in Everglow’s “Hush” album released on the same day.
