Reigning Miss World Mexico’s Vanessa Ponce was all praises for Michelle Dee, the Philippine representative in the 69th edition of the pageant.
“I think she’s a very good contestant, she’s very well spoken, she’s prepared, and I loved her ‘Head-to-Head’ [challenge presentation], I think she really shined on the moment,” Ponce said in a Skype interview alongside Dee on Unang Hirit on Friday.
“I’m waiting to see you on stage, I know you’re gonna take it,” she added.
Ponce said she really connected with Dee after her presentation at the ‘Head-to-Head’ challenge when the Filipina beauty queen talked about her family.
Dee has already secured a spot in the Top 40 of the pageant.
Dee, for her part, said she was going to do her best to bring home the country’s second Miss World crown.
The last Filipino to take the Miss World crown was Megan Young in 2013.
“I’m just going to do my best. You’ll never know what’s going to happen, that’s all I can afford to do, it’s just to make sure [that] I’m representing my country well, and that I make you guys [the Filipinos] proud,” Dee said.
“It’s a fair fight, so it all boils down to my performance on the coronation night,” she added.
Dee went on to thank Filipinos for their support throughout her Miss World journey.
“Super nag papasalamat ako for all of your support. Please continue to support me, konti na lang, we’ll see what happens,” she said.
Coronation night for the 69th Miss World competition will be on December 14 in London.
