Derek Ramsay will go live with his YouTube channel not later than first week of February, while Dingdong Dantes will soon add entries to his existing vlogs with wife Marian Rivera and their kids.
In an interview, Derek said he’s been filming the entire 2019.
“It’s in the works right now, my channel. We’ve taken a lot of materials and, actually, we’re supposed to launch last December. We got so many materials from 2019 so we decided to start the year with something exciting. The first entry will be a recap of my 2019,” he said.
Last year was memorable for Derek’s career as he ended his seven-month hiatus from show business by inking an exclusive contract with GMA Network. Months later, the hunk actor became the boyfriend of actress Andrea Torres, his leading lady on a TV series.
Derek’s channel will chronicle not only his life off camera, but inadvertently, hers and theirs. He said that because their fans have been supportive of their romance, and because they often request to see them together often anyway, voila, their wish is the actor’s command.
After the success of their team up on “The Better Woman,” the two will do another rom-com TV series, then two movies.
The 43-year-old actor added he wants to keep his channel as “real” as possible that’s why he let his videographer stay in his house.
“Talagang pagbangon pa lang may camera na,” he said. “Sa videos, nothing is scripted, nothing is planned out. It is what it is, he (cameraman) basically just follows me (around).”
Dingdong gave an update on his family’s vlogging plans.
It was in 2018 when they went live with their channel with the first video serving as the teaser clip of gender reveal of their second child.
But ever since Jose Sixto IV or Ziggy was born, the entries have been virtually nil.
Well, in our interview, Dingdong promises more travel videos are on the way.
“Matagal na din kaming ’di nakapag-upload kasi it takes commitment to keep producing materials, hindi lang para sa viewers, kun’di para sayo rin,” he said. “Eh maraming nangyari, like, nagka-baby, so medyo ’di na siya (vlogging) naging priority.”
Dingdong said his fans could see him on TV, though, as the airing date of “Descendants Of The Sun,” an upcoming drama action series based on a 2016 South Korean project of the same title, nears.
“Mahirap mag-potray ng sundalo, pero lalo na ’yung sundalong in love,” he said of his role.
Meanwhile, Dingdong also reacted to viral memes on social media showing his photos and name being edited into different personas.
According to him, he’s not offended by memes making fun of his name, in fact, he said seeing these “made my day.”
When he first found out about the memes, he was at work, taping scenes at around midnight when everyone was sleepy. But because of the memes, the mood on the set changed with cast and crew having a laugh or two over them.
Dingdong said his most favorite is the Dingdong Done-Test.
In fact, he even shared it on his Twitter account, with caption that read: “And the winner is….. Dingdong DoneTest! (rolling on the floor laughing emoji).”
“Nakakatuwa. Pinaka magandang take away ay nagiging social experience siya. Iba-iba feeling while looking at it pero ang mahalaga sumaya ako. Nagising kami sa taping. Nagkaroon ng interaction na ’yung mga taong ’di ko nakakausap,” he said.
“At nakikita ’yung creativity ng mga Pinoy at andu’n ’yung responsibility that though funny, they avoid to offend (people).”
Derek and Dingdong along with Piolo Pascual graced the launch of newly-renovated Dunkin’ Aurora, Quezon City branch recently.
