Domestic violence can also happen to men.
Aiming to be an instrument in raising more awareness about it, Ryle Santiago revealed he is being tapped by a non-profit organization to be their ambassador of protection against violence and abuse of young men.
The actor, singer and dancer will hold talks about this advocacy nationwide.
Citing the reported “domestic abuse” Hollywood actor Johnny Depp suffered in the hands of his ex-wife, Ryle shared: “May mga batas na po tayo regarding the protection of women against violence so ang goal po namin is magkaroon din kahit konti para sa mga boys kasi lahat naman po talaga ay nakaka-experience ng violence.
“I hope na makatulong po tayo para sa pag-gabay sa mga kabataang lalaki tungkol sa issue na’to.”
Ryle’s existing endorsement deal with Cherub Baby Care Products of Megasoft Hygenic Products Inc. allows him to use his star power for greater good. They hold campus tours wherein they encourage students to strive harder in order to achieve their goals in life.
“Iba sa pakiramdam ‘yung inaabangan ka ng mga tao tapos they look up to you. So ako, may responsibility ako to be a good version of myself para maging maganda ‘yung influence ko sa mga taong humahanga sa’kin,” he said.
Along with Ryle as Megasoft endorcers are Myrtle Sarrosa and Young JV. The three stars attended recently the blessing of Mega One Megasoft office building in Quezon City headed by Aileen Choi-Go.
